Linking Anti-Harassment and Diversity & Inclusion Work
EGN Invites you to join EGN Cross Functional Virtual Event: Bridging the Gap: Linking the key components of anti-harassment work and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives by Andrew McGeehan.
Date/Time: Friday, October 1, 2021. 8am networking. 8.30am - 10am interactive workshop.
Bridging the Gap: Linking the key components of anti-harassment work and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
What do workplace sexual harassment and diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives have in common? They might seem like disparate topics at first glance, but it is important to see how they impact and interplay with one another. There is a compelling case to be made that increasing workforce diversity & inclusion efforts can reduce instances of sexual harassment in the workplace. There is also compelling evidence that indicates the more homogenous a workforce is, the more likely harassment is to occur towards those few who are not part of the majority group.
This event will investigate and share the current limited research available on this crucial topic and also provide strategies and insights for how organisations can link the two areas of enhancing inclusion and reducing harassment simultaneously. Best practices will be shared and there will be some light discussion on how to strategically incorporate these practices into your organisation.
What the audience will learn:
" See & draw connections between workplace harassment and DEI efforts
" Understand the research that exists in this topic
" Learn strategies for enhancing inclusion at work
" Know best practices for harassment reduction + inclusion enhancement
